Adamas Carbon Joins Biochar Carbon Revolution Panel at Climate Week NYC

New York, NY – September 2024 – During Climate Week NYC 2024, the US Biochar Initiative (USBI) and Grain Ecosystem hosted The Biochar Carbon Revolution, convening global leaders in finance, technology, agriculture, and sustainable infrastructure to explore biochar integration into corporate value chains. With climate targets under scrutiny, the event focused on innovative financing, scalable solutions, and strategic alliances to accelerate carbon removal.

The conference featured experts from Rubicon Carbon, CarbiCrete, Oregon Biochar Solutions, Rosy Soil, PYREG, and Terraset, sharing case studies from cement-free concrete to scalable carbonization technology, highlighting biochar’s versatility in heavy industry and regenerative agriculture.

Nelson Garcez, Managing Director at Adamas Carbon, contributed to discussions on biochar’s role in corporate decarbonization. Drawing on Adamas Carbon’s experience in developing, verifying, and monetizing high-integrity carbon credits, he stressed the importance of bankable project structures that meet certification standards and attract private and institutional investment.

With abundant biomass resources and a growing portfolio of climate-positive projects, Brazil can supply high-quality biochar carbon removal credits to global markets. Adamas Carbon is collaborating with Brazilian and international partners to scale such projects, aligning climate goals with local economic development.“
